A day in the life

What being a Kin actually looks like.

You visit Margaret every Tuesday at 10. You walk to the grocery store together. You help carry groceries. You sit and talk about her grandkids over tea. You notice the fridge was getting empty and note it for her daughter. You leave and Margaret waves from the door. You write your visit summary in the car.

That’s the job. No medical tasks, no personal care, no heavy lifting. Just showing up consistently for someone who needs a friend.

A companion and a senior woman unloading groceries together after a visit.

Requirements

What you need to get started.

You don’t need caregiving experience. You do need to be reliable, patient, and genuinely good with people.

What this isn’t

Not a medical job. Not personal care.

Kin don’t administer medication, provide bathing or toileting help, do heavy lifting, or make medical decisions. This is companionship and light household help: visits, walks, grocery runs, conversation, home observations. If you’re looking for PSW or nursing work, this isn’t that.
